Frequently Asked Questions
|
Please find below the answers of your frequently asked questions :
- What do I have to do to join ?
You need to send us email containing your full names home address, daytime or cell telephone number,
and your email address to extravaganza@jadejames.fr or Meva@Matt.as
Your names will be used to make reservation of the apartment of your choice.
You will be asked to fill out the form we will send to you as acknowledgment, indicating your preferences about accommodation and participation in desired activities
like side trips , club attendance and other scheduled activities.
In the mean time, check the validity of your passport
Language Barrier (I don't speak French)
Although French language knowledge will help tremendously in contacts with native people, majority of French population speak English. Cap D'Agde especially is a place where people from all over the world are coming to seek for sexual adventure. Italians, British, Dutches, Germans, and now many Eastern Europeans are dominating beaches, clubs and shopping centers. Knowledge of English language, unofficially “official language” of The European Union is inspired by popularity of computer jargon and internet needs.
A simple glossary will be given to each guest to help them easier communicating with French people.
What is French people attitude toward Americans ?
General public and especially people in "lifestyle" are far above
political games of French or US governments. French culture, courtesy
and hospitality is famous all over the world and French people love to
interact with Americans.

You will receive a warm welcome !
A myth of a “rude Frenchman” comes from incidents related to service contacts, especially between waiter and American consumer. Working waiter is sensitive to customer's attitude and when customer is presuming that a servant must know his native language and starts to demand order in foreign tongue
triggers known in USA reaction. “You are in my country and you should learn my language do not request me to learn yours”.
Simple courtesy and “Do you speak English ? “ will get you a long way. French language is known as “language of art and love”. French people are very proud of it. Learning and using few simple words, like “Bonjour” and “merci” melts ice and eliminates potential tension.

Do I need a visa ?
American citizen do not need visa to come to Europe and of course to France. You just need a valid passport.
Make sure you have a copy of your passport and credit cards, one with you and another with your family or friends.
In case of loosing your documents you can quickly receive an information needed for further action
What should I take with me ?
- women : sexy dresses for clubs and summer clothes for outside the village
- men : Pants & shirts for clubs, ties aren't mandatory. Summer clothes for outside the village. Avoid short pants and baseball caps, they represent the main attribute in French caricatures of the American guys...
- towels for your wash
- a small towell to sit when you're naked
- pareos for the beach in case of wind
- Summer hats, towels, sunscreen and everything which will helps you to enjoy the beach.
Remember! French cosmetics and clothing have legendary reputation so unless you have any particular reason to bring your own, take advantage of vast variety of cosmetics from shaving cream to exquisite perfumes. Have a minimum for emergency ; everything else you will be able to purchase locally
- pullover and raincoat, just in case of cool evening or bad weather
- do not bring bedding linen : they are supplied by Geneviève Naturisme Agency and changed every week, free of charge
What is the weather there ?
Weather is normally nice at the choosen time (end of June) ; not too hot but sunny. Wind may some time cool the air and the sea water which is typically cold. See the forecasts for the nearest town, Beziers or Sète

Money ?
France as a part of the European union, is using the new currency: the
EURO (EUR €) ; Other
currencies including dollars will not be accepted, in the stores ot
restaurants but must be exchanged at banks, or popular "bureaux de
change". You will find a bank or currency exchange inside the village.
Though you will get a better exchange rate at the ATMs (today, May
2005, 1 euro = 1.25 dollar).
I don't like to carry a lot of cash with me, especially when I'm naked. What should I do ?
We love our members sense of humor, but it is very serious subject.
We found out in our travels to Europe that "Debit card" and "Debit/credit card" are the best form of carrying money when you travel.
Have both of them with you, but carry only "Debit/credit card" when walking around village and the beach.
"Debit card" is usually connected to your saving account. For protection, we advise you to create sub or new account with limited amount of
money, so you won't be exposed to bigger loss in case of theft or other misfortune.
The similar principle goes for "Debit/credit card" which is usually connect to your checking account.
Make sure you will talk to your banker about your travel plans. Our cards has been rejected after our bank refused to authorized them.
Travelers have to adopt to higher security levels today,
check with your bank if you can punch a small hole in your bank card to have it conveniently hang from your neck for "no pocket" situations.
"Bank automat" similar to our ATM s are spread throughout the village and
the rest of the Europe.
You can withdraw about 300€ every day from either card. Using "Debit card" and "Debit/credit card" will also give you the best exchange rates
for any particular day.
Most of US Credit Cards are accepted in Europe. Check with your Credit Card provider for details.
The problem remains the same for the key of your apartment or your little towell for sitting. How to carry it when you're naked ?
A little bag with the minimum (key, card, some money, condoms) is usely carried by the couples.
Prices ?
Mediterranean coast prices are higher than in other parts of France. July and August are even more expensive. In general overall cost seems to be less than in USA.
Legendary qualities of the food and clothing are adding an extra value to your purchase !
Shopping centers ?
There are numerous ways of shopping and variety of shopping centers around :
- in the village : food, regular clothing and sexy boutiques,
newspapers, bank and many souvenir stores.
- on the marina's wharf outside the village, plenty of boutiques for
clothes and/or souvenirs ; same in the "Flanerie" street
- two big shopping malls in Agde (Hypermarchés) : "Intermarché" and
"Hyper U" - lot of things, food, all at lower prices
- in Agde (on Thursday morning) or in Cap d'Agde (on Saturday
morning) big and famous open market with clothes, hardware and
groceries, especially famous for vast selection of local
specialties, from food and art to sporting equipment and other
products
Couples only or singles accepted ?
Our trip is based on "couples only" principal ; however each couple will have an apartment which at least can accommodate four people. We as organizers won't
be able to enforce a rule that you can't invite your single friend to your apartment.
However most of group activities will be in the places and clubs for couples only.
We would like to post this question on our forum and test our members’ opinion.
We may also propose to single women to introduce them to nice selected single French men who may join them for couple activities...
Transportation, shuttle busses, and commute around the village and the town ?
several ways of local transportation :
- first of all, transportation from the airport or rail station to the village is included in our offer (share)
- bus service between the village and the town (every half an hour)
- possibility to hire a taxi
- possibility to rent cars (individually or for up to 9 people)
- possibility to hire a bus for a maximum of 50-60 people for larger event or for side trips
Dining ?
The agenda will forecast several dinners for entire group during the
adventure, including a picnic on the beach, if the weather allows
it. Nevertheless, each one is free to have a dinner outside the
group. There are variety restaurants to choose from, inside the
village and much more outside... We may help you with an advise.
This may be more important than suits the eye at the moment,
especially when you meet very nice new friends and you would like
to have a quiet dinner with them away from the group.
Do ?
- Mandatory nudism at the beach : nudism is expected on the beach. Non naked people are seen as "voyeur" and are not very well appreciated nor accepted
- Nudism can be used anywhere, anytime in the village (see the page shopping in the village by Kiki). Of course, the weather may force you to wear some clothes ; it's not rare to see people the bottom naked and the top covered...
- During the evening in the village, swinger couples are meeting and dating around cafés (the Melrose Café is the most famous or the Casa Nueva) and we can see around very very sexy dresses
Don't ?
- Taking pictures on the beach is not permitted. Your camera may be
thrown into the water by other nudists around ; if you want to take pictures, verify that nobody is in the camera
field or ask permission (mandatory)
- Women are not allowed to wear pants in most of the clubs, sexy
dresses are expected
- Wearing blue jeans or sneakers is restricted in swinger clubs.
Similar dress code may be implied by restaurants
- In France, bringing your own bottle to the club is not allowed
- Having pets on the beach, nor in some apartments is not permitted
- Smoking in public facilities (airport, railways station, train...)
is restricted
- Most restaurants have a non-smoking section available upon request
I'm a swinger but not nudist : would I be limited in my activities
?
Not necessary, but being on the beach wiyh your swimsuit or bathing costume may not be
appreciated by other nudists. Usually, giving you a "bad look" and
remembering your attitude later on in the club, will be the usual
consequence of your behavior. The only way to avoid disapproval,
is to pretend that you are covered to minimize exposure to the sun...
Nudism inside the village is not mandatory, and in the evening,
parade of beautiful people, wearing sexy clothes makes the whole
village even more exciting place to be.
"La Plage Naturiste" in Cap D'Agde is the place to be naked, our
comments are only for people who like the "lifestyle" but are not
particularly thrilled with an idea of exposing their bodies in
public, or may have medical restrictions.
If everyone has his own apartment, how can we meet the others of the group ?
- One apartment, "Extravaganza Headquarters", will be
converted to gathering place and will serve to all the people from
our group. Everybody will be free to use it at anytime, to meet
the others, find the needed information,
agenda to have a
glass of wine, café and croissants for breakfast, grab a condom,
or simply drop by, to see if there is someone else here, who don't
know what to do with an extra time between events
"Extravaganza Headquarters" will be used
as a meeting point for participants of the daily events and the side trip.
Anyway, an aperitif will be offered every day at 19:00 (7:00PM) and every couple is kindly invited to join us.
- On the libertine beach, couples section, a meeting point will be marked by pole with Extravaganza flag
How can we meet other couples ?
- You will be encouraged to invite your newly met friends from
outside of our group to "Extravaganza Headquarters" : this will
be a great opportunity the other couples to meet your guests
- We will be linked with several couples from the Leda Association, who will join us for the different events, especially the Grand Gala party on the last
Saturday
- In the clubs : it's very easy. You will be able to find a lot of
couples there. Just verify by simply asking the questions. Word
"Échangiste" means the
real "full swap" couple. This single word may be all you'll ever
need to proceed in the clubs. Then during an action, you will
start to realize that you quite well understand, what she says,
when she scream softly "Oh Mon Dieu !" followed by "Oui, Oui, Oh !
C'est bon !, C'est bon ! Oh ! C'est si bon !"... Because it sounds like "Oh
My God ! It feels so good !". You see ! We told you that French is
not so hard!
"Mélangiste" means "soft swinger"
- On the libertine beach, couples section,
couples are speaking friendly. You can be invited for "le café"
after lunch, or for "le thé" at tea time, or for "l'apéritif"
before the dinner : by convention, in all these cases, you have to
know that this invitation is for a "sex party" (respectively after
lunch, during the afternoon or before dinner). Of course, any
couple is free to invite who they want or to accept any
invitation. Just be sure that you understand perfectly the
convention... and don't make too much noise, the neighbors may do
the same...
- The Libertine Beach restaurant right at the edge of the beach it
is very popular "watering hole" and excellent place to meet other
couple
- During the evening hours swinger couples are meeting and dating
around popular bars and cafés. The most famous Melrose Café with
equally fashionable Casa Nueva are the places where people
amplify their look with very sexy dresses and converting
neighboring sidewalks to the most sophisticated catwalks, with
hundreds of extremely sexy models.
And do not worry about the
language, a lot of people speak English there, and you already
know the most important words ...
How do I use translators ?
Translators are available at the end of each page. More explanations are given in the page Tips & Hints.
How safe is Cap d'Agde ?
Cap d'Agde is very safe. Even if the idea of "naked people" may
attract some strange single men, the fee for non-residents to
enter the village is high enough to dissuade them. The Naturist
Village is quite protected and the police is also present, but
discret (not naked...). The beach, especially
the couples section is
patrolled in July and August, but free in June and September.
Another part of the town, like "L'Ile aux Loisirs" ("Entertainment
Island") with Luna Park, concentrates a lot of discotheques &
bars, plus the Casino and is
very popular. All the young people spend there their nights and
it's crowded in the season. The risk there is slightly higher.
There is no violence, but like anywhere in the world, you have to
watch over your goods.
How safe is Paris ?
Paris is still one of the safest big towns on Earth. Life
threatening crime is one of the lowest. Police is present and very
active everywhere.
Unfortunately, theft is very popular, and outside of professional
adult thieves, a lot of juvenile gangs are operating throughout
out the city. Metro system is their main ground of operation.
Children from 6-7 years old to late teens are the majority of the
groups. Most of them are under close supervision of adults,
discreetly hidden in the crowd. Adults do not participate in the
action, but they may react in some way to protect their kids.
Violence is not taking place, rather a form of distraction to help
them run away.
Be always aware in crowded places, keep your hands on purses,
wallets, and pockets.
Traditionally Gipsies, and Middle Easterners were leading this
form of activities but now the are joined by groups from former
communist countries. Of course, the Police makes a very good job
to reduce these activities.
What is the difference between the qualifying French words "échangiste" and "mélangiste" for a couple ?
- Mélangiste : Soft swingers, the couple accepting touch
occasionally oral sex but no penetration
- Échangiste : full swap couple
I have heard legendary stories about sex on the beach : are they true or false ?
True.
On the libertine beach, couples section, far away from the Family section and from kids, it's not rare to observe couples having sex on the beach. Someone having soft caresses or blow jobs, some other exhibiting or more. May be, it's why this beach is also called "the Bay of Pigs" or "The Libertine Beach" (la plage coquine...)...
We have never seen several couples involved together.
|
These exhibitions may attract a lot of people (especially single men) making a large circle around the couple(s) and applauding when the spectacle is great...
|
Behind the beach, there are Les Dunes for those who
love sex in the nature. This is normally a "Natural Reserve" for birds,
but this natural sanctuary is only a good excuse for the Police to
restrict people from having sex there... The access of this part is
formally forbidden. But a lot of single men are walking in the dunes and
and the surrounds all day long, looking for sex (with men or with women).
Women, loving "gang bang" may find a great satisfaction there.
|
|
|
During the season, in July and August, sometime even until mid
September, Police is patrolling this part of the beach to prevent
this kind of behavior. Most of the time police is using horses to
patrol beaches and the "dunes". Having sex in public is consider
to be a serious offense. Punishment is steep and may include a jail sentence on top of the
high fee !
From July till beginning of September, police stay on the beach
only as late as 18h30, allowing people to have a free evening to
do what they want. As we stated before, police is not present in
June...
Remember, even in France, it's not allowed to have sex in public,
nor to be naked outside designated nudist resorts... but if there
is no police... people just watch not be caught!

What is called "la Règle d'Or" (the Golden Rule) in the European Lifestyle ?
Similar to USA rule "NO" means "NO", the "Golden Rule" in France
contains the right to say "NO" without any explanation. "NO" is
"NO". This rule is respected by all the swingers in France and you
are assured not to suffer any harassment... Of course, saying "NO"
with a smile is so much nicer...
Single men may not know this
rule... If you are annoyed, just request help from another couple,
but this is rare. Just choose "couples" sites to avoid the problem.
"la Règle d'Or" it's also accepted by women to try to pick up men
by herself.
What kind of apartment do we have to choose ?
There are several types of apartment, different sizes, different prices.
Having a larger apartment will allow you to invit more couples for afternoon parties, if you want.
You may also rent a bigger apartement or large villa and share it with another couple to reduce the cost.
We recommend the "Héliopolis" area ( see map ), closer from the libertine beach, couples section, and less noisy than "Port Nature" (see map to ).
Our Extravaganza Headquarters will be set in Héliopolis.
Does my mobile cell telephon work ?
Yes.
The Cap d'Agde area and France in general, like the rest of Europe, is very well covered by the cellular networks. Be sure you have the "worldwide roamming" option set before you come.
TIP : what are the rules in France ?
Typically, no tip is due. Everywhere the service is included (15%).
Nevertheless, it's used, but never mandatory, to let some coins in a bar when you're satisfied of the service and for taxi drivers. In all other cases, please do not tip.
Note that tip is named "pourboire" in French, meaning "for drinking"...
